Guts is a wandering sellsword offering his services to the highest bidder. His renown eventually catches the eye of Griffith, the charismatic leader of the mercenary force known as the Band of the Hawk. Griffith forces Guts's hand by being the first to defeat him in battle, forging a friendship that will one day topple entire kingdoms. As the Band of the Hawk grows in notoriety in various battles across the land, the strength of their bonds will be put to the test in an event that threatens the very future of the world.
