Kazuya Kinoshita is a 20 year old college student that has no luck in love. When his girlfriend dumps him after only one month of dating, Kazuya desperately uses a dating app to go on a date with a rental girlfriend named Chizuru Mizuhara. During the date, he realizes that Chizuru is only pretending to like him as part of her services, and Kazuya gives her a negative review. The following day, she berates Kazuya for being delusional and damaging her reputation. Kazuya suddenly gets word that his grandmother is in the hospital and Chizuru follows him there. Kazuya's grandmother is thrilled that he found such a nice young girlfriend and now he must keep "dating" Chizuru to keep up appearances with his family.
