High school student Ai Ohto receives a strange egg after being guided by a mysterious voice. That night, Ai is pulled into a strange dream world where the egg breaks to reveal another girl around her age. When killer apparitions appear in pursuit of this girl, Ai chooses to simply put her head down because they don't consider her a target. Realizing what she had just done, Ai is reminded of her friend's death at school and how she chose to ignore all of the events leading up to it. With nothing more than the girl's ballpoint pen in hand, Ai stands up for the first time in her life against the first of many opponents in this strange dreamscape.
