In the distant future, humanity has developed the technology to travel between Earth and the outer planets in their own spaceships.
Johnson, a regular salaryman, wants to spice up his life with a service from T.M. Corporation that lets him experience realistic vivid dreams. In his dream, he becomes the pirate Cobra, wielding a psychic gun. His adventure ends with him on the run from a pirate guild, ultimately disappearing. Happy with his experience, Johnson shares his dream with a T.M. representative, who seems puzzled, noting that Johnson's dream was different from what they intended.
On his way home, Johnson encounters a man who resembles Baiken, a character from his dream. When he calls out Baiken's name, his left hand turns into a gun, and he shoots the man to escape. He realizes he’s the real Cobra, who erased his memories and changed his face to escape a violent past, pretending Cobra was dead. Unfortunately, his psycho-gun reveals his identity to the guild.
With his memories and instincts returning, he and his partner, the female android "Lady," leap into space to embrace an exciting and dangerous life again.
