In the year 199X, the world was consumed by nuclear flames, yet humanity survived. In this post-nuclear war landscape, where nations had collapsed and violence reigned supreme, Kenshiro, the heir to the ancient assassination martial art Hokuto Shinken, bore seven scars on his chest, inflicted by his former friend Shin, the heir of Nanto Seiken. He also lost his fiancée Yuria, with whom he had envisioned a shared future.

Once a kind-hearted individual who abhorred violence, Kenshiro evolved into a relentless avenger, systematically vanquishing villains. Alongside Lin and Bat, who joined him on his journey, Kenshiro confronted Shin, the leader of "KING," who dominated the Kanto region. After an intense battle, Kenshiro emerged victorious, but it was reported that Yuria had tragically fallen to her death.
