Cedric, affectionately called Ceddie, grew up in Brooklyn, New York, surrounded by loving parents and friends from a close-knit working-class community, leading a happy life. Sadly, Ceddie's father, James, passed away. When Ceddie learned about James's death, his grandfather, the Earl of Dorincourt, decided to bring him to England to become his heir. Although Ceddie had to live apart from his mother because of the Earl's rules, his natural cheerfulness and kindness eventually warmed the stern Earl's heart.
