Shiro Yamaoka is a reporter in the cultural section of the Tozai Shimbun newspaper. After successfully passing a challenging department-wide taste test, he is assigned to the "Ultimate Menu" project, part of the company’s 100th anniversary celebration. His junior colleague, Yuko, is also selected for this project and is taken aback by Shiro's unexpected success in the test that others struggled with, especially given his aloof demeanor. Beneath his exterior, Shiro somehow possesses a professional understanding of cuisine, and as the project unfolds, Yuko finds herself increasingly relying on his expertise.
