Wapiko is a cheerful junior high school student at Inaka Junior High School. Although Inaka Junior High is struggling and on the brink of closure, the students enjoy a carefree life surrounded by animals and nature. Wapiko loves playing and happily spends her days with her friends, Aoi-chan and Shu-chan, as well as the animals. One day, a new girl named Chitose Fujinomiya transfers to Inaka Junior High. She used to be a young lady at Tokai Academy, but after the passing of her businessman father and the bankruptcy of his company, she finds herself at Inaka with just her beloved pink flying goldfish, Gyopi-chan.

Initially, Chitoshi feels out of place in the lively environment of Inaka and among its eccentric students. However, things take a turn when it comes to light that Tanaka, the legal advisor for the Fujinomiya family, had embezzled Chitoshi's inheritance. With Wapiko's help, Chitoshi successfully recovers her inheritance. She then decides to use it to revitalize Inaka Junior High School, renaming it New Inaka Junior High School, and takes on the roles of chairman of the board and student council president.

Chitoshi dreams of transforming New Inaka Junior High into a school with a sophisticated and intellectual atmosphere to rival Tokai Academy. However, the students remain the same, setting the stage for a fun and lively adventure ahead!
