In 1965, in the heart of Kenya, a young British girl named Jackie lived near Nairobi with her brother Andrew and their father, Arthur, a wildlife conservation officer. From an early age, Jackie developed a deep bond with animals, nurturing a love that would shape her journey. One fateful day, Arthur and Andrew stumbled upon an orphaned young bushbaby during their patrol. They brought it home, determined to protect it. Jackie found them struggling to feed the little creature and instantly felt a connection. She named the bushbaby Murphy and made the decision to raise it as her own.

However, due to Kenya's independence in 1963, the British community faced repatriation. Jackie, driven by her affection for Murphy, tried to bring him back to England. However, life's twists led her to a different path—one that would take her deep into the heart of Kenya, where she would return Murphy to a safe haven.
