In Fukuoka City, Kazumi Araiwa is a salaryman with a remarkable talent for cooking, yet he chooses to keep this skill a secret from his colleagues. He pretends that his wife, Nijiko, is the one preparing their meals, despite her being hopeless in the kitchen. Their son, Makoto, also enjoys the food they share. As their daily lives unfold at home, at work, and at school, Kazumi's carefully prepared dishes are always there to see them through.
