Himeko Nonohara is a lively thirteen-year-old girl and the biggest tomboy at her school. However, she dreams of becoming more feminine so she can approach her crush, Hasekura. One night, she is surprised to see a girl who looks just like her at her window. This girl turns out to be Princess Erika, a visitor from the Magical Kingdom. Even more astonishingly, everyone in the Magical Kingdom has a counterpart in the Human World, and Himeko is Princess Erika's.

To prove herself as a worthy princess, Erika will observe Himeko's daily life for a year through a crystal ball and ask her to keep a diary. In exchange, Himeko receives a Magic Ribbon that lets her transform into other people. While wearing the ribbon, her stuffed animal, Poko-ta, will be able to speak and move as her chaperone. And so, Himeko and Poko-ta's magical adventure begins!
