In the closing days of the Pacific War, the Imperial Japanese Army was working on a colossal robot, Tetsujin 28-go, envisioned as a secret weapon to stand against the Allies. Yet, Japan's surrender came before it could be completed. After the war, the robot was entrusted to Dr. Kaneda's son, Shotaro Kaneda.

Decades later, in 2002, Shotaro passed on this legacy to his own son, Masato. While many machines have emerged in the years that followed, his treasured Tetsujin 28-go remains operational. Masato then unites with five others to establish the Kaneda Detective Agency, ready to battle against the Neo Black Gang, led by General Zone.
