Himiko, who had lost her family in a tragic accident and carried a heavy sadness in her heart, is visited one day by a mermaid named Shiori. Youkai find Himiko's essence particularly delicious, so Shiori has come to safeguard her from outside threats until she grows into a more refined flavor. Ever since the accident, Himiko has felt a vague longing for death, and she now embraces this, patiently awaiting the day she will be consumed.
