In the mystical land of Higashimura, siblings Yuru and Asa, are known as the "twins who separate night and day," and are left living in the village after their parents ventured to the lower world and never returned. While Yuru embraces the thrill of hunting day and night, Asa dutifully fulfills her responsibilities in the town's keep. Occasionally, a merchant named Dela visits from the lower world, bringing a glimpse of the outside world. Their peaceful existence is shattered when the barrier of Higashimura is breached, and a mysterious armed group invades. In the midst of this turmoil, Asa is tragically taken by a woman claiming to be the "real Asa." Fueled by determination and guided by Dela, Yuru forges a pact with the village's guardian deities, Sayu-sama and Sayu-sama, and bravely defends their home from the attackers. Ultimately, Yuru finds himself in the lower world, where Dela and Hana offer him refuge. There, he connects with the Kagemori family, who are harboring the self-proclaimed real Asa. United in their quest, he promises Asa that they will embark on a journey together to find their parents.
