Ageha Yoshina is a first-year high school student who runs a jack-of-all-trades business, solving people's problems for a small fee. One day, he finds a strange telephone card in a payphone. A few days later, he notices that his childhood friend and classmate, Sakurako Amamiya, who also has the same card, has vanished. As he investigates the card, he stumbles upon an urban legend about the secret society of Psyren and the enigmatic Nemesis Q, who claims he will one day guide humanity to paradise. Although he dismisses these rumors, mysterious assassins suddenly appear, targeting his card. Seemingly cornered, Ageha hears a ringing from a nearby payphone. Upon picking up the receiver, he is suddenly transported to an otherworldly wasteland.
