Yuusha no Kuzu
In 21st-century Japan, an ability known as "Ether Perception" was discovered, granting extraordinary powers upon humanity.
Amidst this shift, the mafia exploited illegal ether enhancement surgeries, transforming themselves into formidable "Demon Lords" and seizing control of Tokyo's underworld. In response, the government took decisive action, legalizing bounty hunters to track down these Demon Lords with the aid of a special drug called "E3." Dubbed "Heroes," these hunters were often a rough-and-tumble crowd, not so different from the very foes they pursued.
Yashiro, a rebellious Hero known as the "Grim Reaper," was making his way to his favorite bar when he witnessed an astonishing sight: a girl in a school uniform descending from the sky, crashing to the ground. Her name is Aki Jougamine, a trainee from the government-sanctioned Hero training institution known as the "Academy." She had been defeated by a Demon Lord's subordinate while trying to rescue her kidnapped classmate, resulting in her dramatic fall. By a twist of fate, Yashiro saved her, and in her moment of desperation, she implores him to become her mentor, seeking help to save her friends. Though hesitant, he accepts, and together, they embark on their shared journey as master and disciple.
