Sentenced to Be a Hero
Yuusha-kei ni Shosu
The Hero's Punishment is a fate worse than death. Heroes must keep fighting on the front lines against the Demon Lord, and even if they perish, they are resurrected to battle again. Xylo Forbartz, the Holy Knight Commander, was wrongfully accused of the grave sin of slaying a goddess who had fallen into corruption. As a result, he loses his status and is subjected to the Hero's Punishment. The heroes are all extraordinary individuals, yet they come from various backgrounds as criminals.
Understanding that the temple is punishing him to conceal the truth about the corrupted goddess, Xylo accepts his role as the leader of Penal Hero Unit 9004. During one of his missions, he encounters Teoritta, the sword goddess, who quickly selects him to be her knight. Despite his hesitations about forming a contract with another goddess, they team up with Unit 9004 in a fight for survival and to uncover the truth.
