Suikoden: The Anime

Riou and his best friend Jowy are part of the Highland youth brigade. During an expedition, they are unexpectedly ambushed by a mysterious enemy under the cover of night. Trapped by enemy soldiers at the edge of a waterfall, they make a desperate leap into the water below. Upon waking, Riou discovers that he and Jowy are held captive in a mercenary fort belonging to the City-State Alliance, the adversary of the Highland Kingdom. As they are forced to work as prisoners, doubts begin to arise about the attackers who decimated their brigade. In search of answers, they resolve to return to their hometown of Kyaro, where they uncover a conspiracy that will shake the very foundations of their world.
