One thousand years into the future, the king who ruled over the Kingdom of Fir passed away. An evil plot is hatched from the shadows by Prince Kamaro, his sister Princess Mirenjo, and their two henchmen, Julie the mechanic and Alan the guard. They conspire to take the throne for themselves but there's just one thing standing in their way. Law of the kingdom dictates that whomever finds the mystical Firebird will become the new monarch. Princess Karen, the daughter of the deceased king, travels with her guardian robot Daigon to the year 1981 to seek the assistance of their ancestors, Wataru Toki and Koyumu Himekuri. Using their new powers, Wataru is able to transform into Yattodetaman as they challenge the villains in comedic battles throughout time and space.
