Headmaster Ochaka orders three students, Noriko, Kiyoshi and Hatsuo, to collect Oshaka artifacts in the form of copper plates. These artifacts are said to contain a puzzle that will lead to a treasure left by Buddha, that will bring more prestiege to their Oshaka Academy. As the Tatemae Trio, the three students depart on their long journey collecting puzzle pieces. Unfortunately, the conversation was overheard by three other failed students, Yan-Yan, Dasainen and Tommentan, who decide to form the Dirt Cheap Trio. Despite repeatedly failing the entrance exam, they believe that by collecting the artifacts first, they will finally be admitted to the prestigious Oshaka Academy. However, when Noriko and the others are attacked anywhere by the Dirt Cheap Trio, the mysterious Itadakiman appears and saves the day.
