In the peaceful town of Aozora, Kotaro Kirigakure, a fourth grader at Aozora Elementary School, lives in a giant ninja mansion. He is the heir to the Kirigakure-ryu ninja style, a legacy that has continued for over 400 years. While trying to skip out on a training exercise with his father, Tohei accidentally breaks a mystical rock that seals the dark demon king Gokark. Resurrected, Gokark aims to transform the human realm into the Great Demon World. Yet, in a final act of bravery, Eldran, the valiant light warrior protecting Earth, sacrifices himself to reseal Gokark. However, Gokark sends the dark sorcerer Yaminorius III into the human world just as he is contained.

On their way home from school, Kotaro and his friends, Takasuke Kazamatsuri and Rikiya Ryuzaki, stumble upon the giant robot Ganbaruger. Answering Eldran's call, the trio embraces their destiny as the Miracle Ninja Ganbar Team, gaining incredible powers through their Ganbar Suits. They rise to the challenge, battling the demon beasts summoned by Yaminorius. Yet, a curse hangs over them: "Reveal your true identity to anyone, and you will be transformed into a dog."

Together, Kotaro and his friends, with the assistance of Tohei (Gon), who has been transformed into a dog by the curse, navigate the complexities of leading double lives as both elementary school students and courageous secret heroes.
